Following a comprehensive eight-month investigation, the police announced that there were insufficient grounds to lay charges against the dogs' owner.
Drew was riding his bicycle near a property when he was attacked by the dogs. After suffering severe injuries, he succumbed to his wounds two days later in a Halifax hospital. The tragic incident drew significant attention across Nova Scotia, sparking renewed discussions around the necessity of stronger dog bylaws in the province.
The investigation involved collecting a wealth of evidence, including witness interviews, video footage, and insights from the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
