MIAMI (AP) – Tropical Storms Juliette and Fernand are currently active over open waters, as reported by the Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Center. One storm is present in the Pacific Ocean while the other is located in the Atlantic. Neither storm poses an immediate threat to coastal areas, and no watches or warnings have been issued for either system.

Tropical Storm Juliette, located approximately 520 miles (840 kilometers) southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, exhibited maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph) after a brief period of strengthening. The storm is moving in a west-northwest direction at a speed of 13 mph (20 kph). Forecasters have indicated that Juliette could continue to gain strength over the next few hours, although it is expected to weaken again by Wednesday.

Meanwhile, in the Atlantic region, Tropical Storm Fernand is situated about 635 miles (1,020 kilometers) east-northeast of Bermuda. With maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (75 kph), the storm is progressing northeastward at 14 mph (22 kph). Forecasters anticipate a notable shift in Fernand's trajectory, as it is expected to turn more towards the northeast while moving away from Bermuda. As the storm continues its path, it is likely to begin weakening and may transition into a post-tropical cyclone later on Tuesday or Wednesday, ultimately leading to its dissipation.
