A tragic bus accident occurred just after midnight on Monday, resulting in the deaths of at least 16 individuals in Indonesia's Java island. The incident took place on a toll road where a passenger bus, which was carrying a total of 34 people, reportedly lost control, collided with a concrete barrier, and subsequently rolled onto its side.

The bus was operating on a route that connected the nation's capital, Jakarta, with Yogyakarta, known for its rich historical significance as an ancient royal city. The crash transpired while the vehicle was navigating a curved exit ramp on the Krapyak toll road, situated in Semarang city, Central Java.

According to Budiono, the chief of the search and rescue agency, the severe impact of the crash led to several passengers being ejected from their seats and becoming trapped against the bus's body. Emergency response teams and police arrived approximately 40 minutes following the collision, where they discovered six passengers who had perished at the scene. Sadly, an additional 10 individuals succumbed to their injuries either en route to medical facilities or while receiving treatment.

As of the latest updates, a total of 18 injured victims were receiving care at two local hospitals. Among them, five individuals were reported to be in critical condition, while 13 were considered to be in serious condition. Eyewitness accounts and television reports depicted the yellow bus on its side, surrounded by rescue personnel, law enforcement, and onlookers, as ambulances worked tirelessly to transport the wounded and deceased from the accident site.
