LONDON (AP) - Ariana Grande, producers announced, has decided to withdraw from her upcoming role in a stage musical in London, opting to take a break from the intense scrutiny that comes with her public life. Grande was set to star alongside her “Wicked” co-star, Jonathan Bailey, in a production of Stephen Sondheim’s iconic musical, “Sunday in the Park with George,” slated to be held at the Barbican theatre in 2027. However, Empire Street Productions shared on a Sunday that Grande will no longer be involved in the production.

The production team expressed their understanding and support for Grande’s decision, stating, “We know this cannot have been an easy decision.” They also assured that the musical will be opening next summer as scheduled, with further casting details to be revealed “in due course.”

A representative for Grande communicated with People magazine, revealing that the 33-year-old singer plans to step back from the public eye after concluding the Eternal Sunshine Tour.
