Early in the morning on September 6, 2026, police responded to a crash in Beaver Bank involving a car whose driver was suspected of being impaired. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. along the 1200 block of Beaver Bank Road, where officers from the Halifax detachment found a damaged Honda Civic with a 32-year-old man at the wheel.
Upon arrival, officers engaged the driver and suspected him of impairment. He underwent a roadside test, which he reportedly failed. Subsequent tests conducted at the Lower Sackville RCMP detachment indicated that the man's blood alcohol content was 130 mg per cent, beyond the legal limit.
The driver was released and is due to appear in Dartmouth court to face charges related to impaired driving. In light of this incident, authorities emphasized the responsibility of all motorists to ensure road safety. They urged individuals consuming alcohol or drugs to arrange safe transportation to prevent such occurrences.
