JOHN’S – The mayor of Placentia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Keith Pearson, has announced that his region is currently undergoing a transitional phase following a significant development in the offshore oil sector. The massive platform, constructed by local workers, was towed out of the commercial seaport of Placentia on May 13, 2025.
