“Four full wildfire seasons ago, the Liberals promised more water bombers, more firefighters,” Rempel Garner remarked, stressing her frustration with the absence of follow-through on these commitments. She called into question the government's preparedness, stating, “Where are they?” This statement reflects her belief that the promises made by the Liberal government have not resulted in tangible improvements in wildfire management resources.
Rempel Garner also acknowledged the anxiety and fear that citizens in the Maritime provinces are experiencing due to the ongoing wildfire threats.
