On Saturday, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) arrested a 30-year-old man following an incident that escalated in a parking lot near police headquarters. The event unfolded on Gottingen Street, where officers were present at around 7 p.m. to address a potential disturbance.

According to the HRP, the situation began when a vehicle entered the parking area. A female driver exited the vehicle in a distressed manner and informed the officers that the man in the passenger seat was intoxicated. She claimed he was in violation of existing court orders and insisted that he should be apprehended. The police took her report seriously and approached the vehicle.
