"Couple Charged in Nova Scotia Kidnapping Case"

HALIFAX — RCMP have charged a man and a woman with an alleged kidnapping in Nova Scotia after the victim was helped by a passing motorcyclist

HALIFAX – A serious incident has unfolded in Nova Scotia, resulting in charges against a man and a woman for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping. The Alberta-based Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) report that the situation escalated after a victim received assistance from a passing motorcyclist on the evening of May 30, 2026. This incident occurred in the vicinity of Bible Hill, a community located near Truro, Nova Scotia.

According to police reports, law enforcement received a call reporting that a 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman had abducted a male victim from a residence in the Bible Hill area. Following the report, the RCMP initiated a swift search for a silver Hyundai Elantra, the vehicle reportedly used by the suspects during the alleged abduction.

During their investigation, officers observed a motorcycle parked at the victim's home and proceeded to pull over the motorcycle for questioning on a nearby street. Upon interaction, police discovered that the rider of the motorcycle had stopped to assist the victim, who was found as a passenger on the bike and displaying minor injuries consistent with an earlier altercation.

As the investigation continued, police apprehended the suspects a couple of hours later. At the time of their arrest, it was disclosed that the male suspect was suffering from a gunshot wound, which authorities believe he sustained before the kidnapping incident. This additional information raised concerns regarding the suspects' activities leading up to the abduction.

Both suspects, the 37-year-old female and the 34-year-old male, have been formally charged with kidnapping, an offense that carries severe legal consequences. In addition to the kidnapping charge, the male suspect faces further charges related to violating his probation and driving while prohibited, making the situation even graver in light of his past legal issues.

This incident highlights various safety and legal concerns, as instances of alleged kidnapping provoke issues around community safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement in dealing with such threats. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding both the abduction and the gunshot wound sustained by the male suspect to determine the broader context of the situation.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information related to this case or other suspicious activities in the Bible Hill and Truro area to come forward. The RCMP is committed to ensuring justice is served and that the safety of local communities is upheld in the wake of such alarming events.
