The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Colchester County reported a tragic incident on Thursday night that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man from Truro. The accident occurred on Highway 326, near Earltown, just before 11 p.m.

According to the RCMP, the victim was struck by a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old woman. The vehicle involved in the incident was identified as a Ford Edge. Upon the officers' arrival, they found the man lying on the roadway, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the driver, along with a 19-year-old passenger in the vehicle, emerged unscathed from the collision. Following the incident, a collision reconstructionist from the RCMP arrived on site to assist with the investigation.

The ongoing investigation has been supported by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, which plays a critical role in examining the circumstances surrounding the man's death. Highway 326 was closed for several hours post-incident to allow for a thorough examination and to facilitate the investigative process. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
