FREDERICTON - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in New Brunswick have revealed that they unintentionally caused a house fire during a standoff that took place last year. The incident occurred in April 2025 when the police deployed a tear-gas canister, which subsequently ignited upon landing inside a home situated in Kingsclear First Nation.
