Four individuals were hospitalized, including a youth and a police officer, following a head-on collision between an unmarked Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) cruiser and a Hyundai Santa Fe in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 15, 2026, around 1:00 p.m. on Highway 10 in West Northfield, located north of Bridgewater.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders discovered that the RCMP pickup truck and the SUV had collided. The 64-year-old driver of the Hyundai, along with two passengers — a 77-year-old woman and a youth — were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, police reported that their conditions were non-life threatening.
The police officer, who was the sole occupant in the RCMP vehicle, was also taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Authorities blocked off the roadway for several hours to conduct an investigation into the crash.
The RCMP has issued a public appeal for witnesses. They are asking anyone who may have footage or saw the crash to get in touch with the Lunenburg District RCMP. This call for information is crucial for gathering as many details as possible about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
