"Two Charged After Halloween Parking Lot Assault"

Two men are facing assault charges in an altercation that took place in a gas station parking lot on Halloween

On Halloween evening, two men were involved in a serious altercation that led to assault charges in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. at a gas station located on the 200 block of Cobequid Road, where witnesses reported that a Mazda3 vehicle crashed into a gas pump and several parked cars before fleeing the scene.

Following the crash, RCMP officers arrived at the scene and subsequently located the damaged Mazda3 on Dickey Drive. The driver of the vehicle claimed that he was a victim of an assault. According to his statement, he was parked in his car when someone he knew assaulted him, prompting his erratic actions that caused the crash.

The driver sustained injuries from the altercation and was transported to the hospital by paramedics. Fortunately, the passenger traveling with him did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

Police investigations revealed that after the initial assault, the Mazda driver allegedly retaliated by using his vehicle to ram into the other man's car. This reckless behavior resulted in significant damage, including colliding with a gas pump and several other vehicles in the parking lot.

The driver of the Mazda, a 25-year-old male from Mount Uniacke, has been charged with assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a vehicle due to his actions following the assault. Meanwhile, the other individual involved, a 22-year-old male from Gays River, is also facing charges related to the assault.

Both individuals are expected to appear in Dartmouth court at a later date to face the charges against them. The events highlight the severe consequences that can arise from altercations, particularly when they escalate to violent actions and result in injury and property damage.
