In a recent update, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) provided additional insights regarding their ongoing search efforts for two missing children, Jack and Lilly Sullivan, last seen in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. The RCMP has engaged 11 specialized units in the complex investigation surrounding the disappearance of the siblings, ages four and six.
According to a press release from the police, Jack and Lilly were last seen in public on May 1, 2025, in the company of their family members. They were reported missing the following day, May 2, by their stepfather and mother. This has led to a considerable mobilization of resources in their case, highlighting the urgency and seriousness of the investigation.
As of June 11, the RCMP reported that they have gathered hundreds of hours of surveillance footage from various locations, including Lansdowne Station and Gairrloch Road, where the children's residence is located. This extensive footage is crucial in piecing together the timeline and last known movements of Jack and Lilly.
To advance the investigation, the RCMP has formally interviewed 54 individuals connected to the case. Among these interviews, some were subjected to polygraph tests, although specifics on how many individuals underwent these tests were not disclosed in the update. This use of lie detection technology indicates the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the testimonies received.
Furthermore, the police have conducted thorough searches of the property where Jack and Lilly were last seen. This extensive search effort has encompassed every aspect of the home, including the grounds, outbuildings, as well as nearby septic systems, wells, mineshafts, and culverts, indicating a comprehensive approach to ensuring no stone is left unturned.
In addition to their own investigative efforts, the RCMP has received 488 tips from the public, all of which have been diligently followed up. S/Sgt. Rob McCamon, the acting Officer in Charge of Major Crime and Behavioural Sciences, emphasized that a dedicated team of investigators is continually assessing new information to discern the factors surrounding the disappearance of Jack and Lilly. The investigators are considering all possible scenarios and have employed every available resource to help locate the missing children.
Additionally, the RCMP has secured numerous court authorizations to seize and analyze various materials and devices believed to be relevant to the investigation. However, despite the extensive investigation and resource mobilization, the police have not identified any new areas requiring search and rescue operations at this time.
