The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Kings County are actively seeking additional information from the public after arresting two individuals in connection with an armed robbery incident that occurred in Coldbrook.
On February 16, at approximately 3:20 PM, officers were summoned to a restaurant located on Highway 1 in Coldbrook, following reports of a robbery involving an armed individual. The authorities reported that the suspect entered the establishment, allegedly placed a weapon on the counter, and demanded cash from the employees working there.
After the armed suspect fled the scene, he was observed getting into a vehicle parked nearby and subsequently driving away. This prompted an ongoing investigation by the RCMP to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for the robbery.
On February 28, a search warrant was executed, leading to the discovery of various items believed to be connected to the robbery. During this operation, two suspects were arrested at a hotel in Windsor. A 25-year-old individual from Kingston has been charged with robbery as a party to the offence. The second suspect, a youth, faces multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise with the intent to commit a crime, and weapon possession.
Both suspects have since been released on conditions, with court appearances scheduled for May. Despite the arrests, investigators maintain that further public input could be instrumental in supporting the ongoing investigation and subsequent charges against those involved.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information who has not yet spoken to the police to come forward. Individuals can reach out to the Kings District RCMP by calling 902-679-5555.
