"OneHarbour Enhances Port Halifax Operations"

OneHarbour is coming to Port Halifax after Datifex, a 2026 NATO DIANA Innovator member, signed a Managed Service Agreement with the Halifax Port Authority (HPA)

OneHarbour is set to arrive at Port Halifax following the signing of a Managed Service Agreement between Datifex, a member of the 2026 NATO DIANA Innovator program, and the Halifax Port Authority (HPA). This collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency at one of Canada's busiest harbours, where the HPA's Operation Centre manages vessel traffic, berth schedules, environmental conditions, and safety incidents across multiple systems.

With the introduction of OneHarbour, the HPA seeks to simplify complex maritime operations. As stated in a recent press release, the application is intended to "cut through the complexity" of managing various harbour activities. OneHarbour utilizes DATIVerse 3D technology, which consolidates harbour operations into a single, interactive 3D environment that can be accessed from any device, anywhere, and in real-time.

Furthermore, the OneHarbour system generates automated alerts for various vessel-related updates, including collisions, unauthorized movements, intrusions into restricted zones, High Air Draft Vessel (HADV) bridge clearance risks, and severe weather conditions. By integrating data from Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponders, computer vision, and radar, OneHarbour improves the detection of smaller vessels and offers a comprehensive, real-time view of all maritime activities.

David Thomas, Executive Director of The PIER at the Halifax Port Authority, expressed optimism about the new system, stating, "OneHarbour has given our OPCEN a level of situational awareness that wasn't possible before—and the capabilities it brings to harbour management are insightful, timely, and accurate." He further noted that the agreement demonstrates how The PIER and its partners are committed to enhancing supply chain efficiency by testing, demonstrating, and adopting advanced technologies in the Port of Halifax.

The announcement of OneHarbour's implementation coincided with the recent H2O: Home to Overseas Conference, which took place in Halifax earlier this month, highlighting the growing focus on technological advancements in port operations.
