"Fiery Crash in Bedford Involves Injured Driver"

Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency, in coordination with local police, responded to a two-vehicle collision in Bedford that resulted in a fire late Monday night. The incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. on Larry Uteck Boulevard, close to Amesbury Gate. Upon arrival, officers discovered one vehicle engulfed in flames off the road in the woods while the other vehicle remained on the roadway.

Both vehicles sustained extensive front-end damage, as reported by the police in an official release. One driver was subsequently transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Firefighters were dispatched to extinguish the fire.

A 17-year-old individual involved in the collision is slated to appear in court to face charges of operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm. This incident highlights the risks associated with driving and the potential consequences of traffic-related offenses.

Weekend update from police

During the weekend in Halifax, there were two notable incidents involving law enforcement. One incident involved a robbery, while the other concerned a man who was threatening individuals with a hammer.

On the morning of the same day as the robbery, officials were notified of an altercation at Long Lake Provincial Park in Spryfield. At approximately 10:05 a.m., police responded to reports of an agitated man wielding a hammer. Upon their arrival, they arrested the man, who was subsequently charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Later that day, at around 4:00 p.m., officers were called to the Halifax Shopping Centre where staff reported a robbery. A youth had stolen $400 worth of merchandise and used a sensory irritant to spray several security guards at a Zumiez store. In connection with this incident, a 14-year-old was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including assault with a weapon (five counts), robbery, possession of a prohibited weapon, disguise with intent, and uttering threats.
