Spring is approaching, as evidenced by the Port of Halifax's announcement of its cruise schedule for the upcoming season, which runs from April 4 to November 19. This year marks the longest cruise season to date, featuring an impressive 188 calls and an estimated 328,000 cruise guests expected to visit Halifax.
The schedule includes six inaugural calls from vessels making their first visit to Halifax, as well as 52 days when multiple ships will dock in the port. The Port Authority emphasizes the importance of advance planning, allowing local businesses and tourism operators to prepare for the influx of cruise guests. “We’re pleased to share this year’s schedule, and we look forward to the return of cruise ships and cruise guests to the Halifax Seaport,” said Fulvio Fracassi, President and CEO of the Halifax Port Authority. He noted that local businesses, including restaurants, stores, and attractions, play a vital role in enhancing guest experiences and contributing to Nova Scotia’s tourism sector.
This year, the Halifax Seaport will undergo several upgrades, providing visitors with improved facilities. The upgrades include new digital signage, public address systems, enhanced wayfinding, murals, water bottle filling stations, and a modern interactive information booth at Pavilion 22, developed in partnership with Discover Halifax.
