Halifax Regional Police are currently investigating a stabbing incident that occurred early Sunday morning involving a 16-year-old boy. The incident took place shortly after midnight in the 6700 block of Chisholm Avenue, where the victim was with friends inside a house.
According to police reports, the situation escalated when a rock was thrown through a window of the residence. Following this act of vandalism, the group of friends decided to step outside to assess the situation. Upon exiting, they were confronted by another group of young individuals, described as wearing black clothing and masks.
The altercation intensified when the second group used sensory irritants against the first group. Regrettably, during this confrontation, the 16-year-old victim was stabbed. Fortunately, police have stated that the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
As the investigation proceeds, authorities have yet to make any arrests related to the incident. The police are actively working to gather more information and piece together the events leading up to the stabbing. This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding youth violence and the need for community safety.
