Halifax Regional Police (HRP) experienced a busy weekend, receiving over 700 calls, which included handling a serious assault incident involving a teenager who required hospitalization. The incident took place on October 2, around 11:30 p.m. Police were alerted to a stabbing on Dacosta Row in Halifax, where they discovered a 17-year-old boy suffering from injuries. Fortunately, the victim was transported to the hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

Initially, responding officers were unable to locate a suspect at the scene. However, two days later, on October 4, HRP arrested a 21-year-old man in connection to the stabbing. The police confirmed that the victim and the suspect were known to each other. Subsequently, the suspect, identified as Alisa Corcoran, is expected to appear in court facing charges of aggravated assault and two counts of breaching a probation order.

On the same day that the stabbing suspect was apprehended, authorities received a call regarding a robbery at a Canadian Tire location in Dartmouth. One of the suspects threatened employees with a knife during the robbery.

During the chaotic episode, two of the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle while HRP officers managed to apprehend the individual who was armed with the knife. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the robbery. A 40-year-old man is now facing several charges, including robbery, two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and a breach of a release order.
